Do you ever feel like you are alone, when you are in the midst of life’s storm? Do you ever wonder where God is, as the bricks of life start to crumble around you? It is natural to get angry or afraid, but you don’t have to let it consume your mind. Sometimes, it is easy to forget all of God’s promises, which he made just for you. So, here is a verse for you to copy and memorize, for whenever you feel abandoned or blue.

Deuteronomy 30: 8, “And the Lord, he it is that do go before thee; he will be with thee, He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” (KJV)

Have faith and believe that he is with you always, no matter where you are. As you recite, imagine a spiritual blanket of peace and comfort for you to rest in. You will begin a transition in a new person that you have always wanted to be. Remember, he chose you to be a soldier in his army, who is able to stand in the face of trials and tribulations. God will lovingly bring to your knees, so you can become stronger and stand in the midst of life’s trials.

Each day he wants to give you more wisdom, which found in the Bible. He will shape your life and mold you in his grace, while chasing the blues away. God doesn’t want you to feel alone or to fear his presence. Instead, he wants us to crave the meat of his word and personal time with him. When you find your comfort in his arms, grow spiritually by allowing you to experience these trials. Your spiritual father knows that you are not perfect and that you will fail, but his mercy is there waiting to catch you.

The next memory verse is Romans 3:23, “For we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (KJV)

Fortunately, he forgives you for your mistakes and he welcomes you back into his comforting embrace.  But, you must be sincere and willing to learn what he has to teach you. When Life is scary or out of control, you must turn to him. Always remember that God won’t give you more than you can bear, since he is with you always. Learn more about his promises to you, by spending time with his word every day.

Remember, God is always in control! So, give him the reins and let him guide your path to spiritual happiness. You will find unconditional love and forgiveness, which is beyond any human understanding or capabilities. By allowing him to mold you into a new person, you become fully protected by God’s spiritual armor. Therefore, as you grow, you will find the spiritual peace and rest that you have always longed for.

Don’t Ring That Bell

My Uncle once told me that, “Sometimes our words ring a bell when we speak them out loud!”

An unbearable amount of pain can come from someone words, especially when they can literally cut a person’s heart to pieces. Sometimes, people are dealing with things that you may not know about, so be kind when you speak. Lately, I have been trying to watch my own mouth and not say mean things to anyone, since I have been trying to get right with God. However, some days I fail too and my anger erupts like a volcano and I am saying stuff I completely regret.

Do not say something if you don’t mean it, since not everyone will forgive you for the mean things you have said. Everyone can be very mean with their words, but you must change the way you react when you are angry at a person. Try to be quiet and say a prayer, whenever someone seems to be pushing all the right buttons and your anger is swelling. Take a deep breath or listen to your favorite music, which may help you calm down.

Don’t say something that you cannot take back, just because you are angry and someone is relentless and is constantly pushing you to your limit. The anger swells like the lava in a volcano and before long you are spewing venom from your lips. Instead, offer a prayer of forgiveness and try to get away from the person who brings the contempt out of you. Honestly, don’t let your anger cause you to say things that you will one day end up regretting for the rest of your life.

I always try to remember what my Uncle always said when he was alive, “Don’t Ring That Bell, Christy!”

Creating Your Own Writing Space

Are you thinking about joining the freelance writing world, whether you choose to publish and submit your completed work online or offline?  If so, begin by finding and creating a small office area, which will allow you to enter the magical world of freelance writing. You must develop several social media profiles like Facebook or Twitter to connect with other freelance writers, but be sure to listen to any tips or advice they give you as a new freelance writer.

First, you will need to set an office area with a sturdy desk or table, a desktop or laptop, and a good printer with paper. You will need a comfortable chair because you will be in it most of the day or night while writing. Additionally, you will need printer paper and notebook paper, as well as several pencils and pens in a cup. Pick out a decent reading lamp and then install an office program like Microsoft Office or Open Office. Make sure that you have enough space to work in since you will be taking many different reminder notes.

Second, look for a cup to keep pencils and pens in, which will allow you to save time by not looking for something to write with. Always keep a pencil sharpener and paper clips on your new desk, because you will use them daily. Be sure to leave enough room in your office for a small filing cabinet or some file boxes. You will be responsible for keeping records of your work, both online and offline for tax or business purposes.

Third, create a blog online with a blogging platform Blogger or WordPress, which will allow you to submit new blog post or articles. Pick out a special place to keep your references books like the dictionary or the tips for freelance writing book. As you pursue your freelance writing career, you will find that your career can stay on track, if you stay organized! Always back up files your work into the computer’s hard drive and a thumb drive, as well as sending them to OneDrive or another cloud program.

Fourth, Choosing your own writing space can be as simple as rearranging some furniture in your bedroom or in a quiet space in the house. Either way, you should choose a place that is away from all of the household distractions. Then, you can allow your creative juices flow, as you concentrate on creating a daily writing habit and building your client list by social networking with others.  Furthermore, you can adjust your writing space as you see fit, once your career begins to grow and expand.

Finally, you will need to establish a daily writing schedule, but you must pick a time that your creative juices will be flowing. Start, by setting some ground rules about your writing space with your family and friends. Ask each member to refrain from disturbing you, during your official writing time and turn your phone’s ringer off.  Now, sit down and let your mind enter the magical world of your own mind, so you can start writing about anything that comes to your mind.

Book Review: The Path of the Child

Written by, Sojourner McConnell

The author Sojourner McConnell wrote a fantastic story about a girl named Melonie Easton. Throughout the story the author gives you a deeper glimpse into the child’s life. The child was a lonely child, who felt unloved and unwanted. As Melonie got older she began drowning herself into learning new things at school and through reading. As she becomes a teen, her life begins to change in many different ways. She makes a friend and they become close, during a period of new beginnings and tragic loss.

This story is well written and provokes deep emotions that allow you to connect with each of the characters in the story. This author has brought the story and its characters to life in this book. Ms. McConnell has done a fantastic job in making her characters memorable. I actually look forward to reading more books that are written by this author.

Take a moment to read this book yourself, because you won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic book.

Hello Again…Updates

I haven’t been writing lately, due to unforeseen circumstances in my life. I am back and writing when I can, between the many real life obligations I have. I hope everyone has been well and I pray that each person has experienced many blessings over the time I have been away. My latest blessing was given to me on June 1st, 2016, when I was able to rent to own my own place. I am so thankful to those special people who helped me during my transition. You know who you are!

Update on my Novel

My novel Ana’s Stand was supposed to be republished, however my computer got broke and I have not found someone to get the file off my computer. I am working on this situation and writing in my other books as well. I am doing reviews and starting to write articles again. Please take a moment to look at my new work and tell a friend. I am looking forward to earning my place in the writing world…one story at a time!

Update on Momma

My mom is doing well at her new home, but she needs prayer and so do I. She is getting used to the Rehabilitation center and is slowly gaining her strength back. She will be in the nursing home until she is able to fully care for herself again. My mom has been coloring and getting to know her new roommates, who are really nice as well. Her nurses love her and she seems to be flourishing, which warms my heart because it was tough to let her go.

Please keep us in your prayers,

Crystal K.

Love tore me up inside,
How it lied and broke my heart.
Then I met him and he smiled,
He said hi and made me sigh.

Something was different,
Love has been gone so long.
He asked me, “If I could be his?”
Of course, “I said yes!”

He hugged me and warmed my heart,
He kissed me and it lingered on my lips.
I’m his special girl and he is my love,
We are all one of a kind now!

Meet Some Special Orphans Who Need Sponsors

Meet a Volunteer: Kakande Muhamad

I am Kakande Muhamad and I am a volunteer, who is running the Reallife Orphanage Home. I am a native thirty-two-year-old, who is currently caring for twenty children. Additionally, I am working with several volunteers to care for these lovely children. Some of these children have lost their parents in the war, some were abandoned, and others lost their parents to illnesses like HIV/AIDS. These children are vulnerable and need sponsors to get the daily food, and medications or school items.

Our Mission at the Orphanage

As volunteers our mission is to provide, love, support, and daily care for the vulnerable children in the slum communities near our orphanage. Our long term goal is to find each child a permanent home and someone to love them. Currently, we need sponsors that can help us keep the orphanage open, as well as help provide these children with their daily needs. We need food that will not perish like beans, maize, rice, and other foods that help nourish these precious children.

How I Began Helping These Special Kids

I was born and grew up in Bwaise neighborhood which is a slum, but during this time I saw many children die for many reasons. I have seen children thrown into water channels or drainage systems, which hurt me deeply, because these poor children died. Unfortunately, I have also seen other children living in old broken down houses and along the streets. These children would sleep wherever they could sleep and I wanted to do something to help the orphans in my own community.

After seriously soul searching, I decided to open an orphanage, which does not turn these vulnerable children and babies away. However, I need to have sponsors to help me keep the orphanage open and caring for these special children. We must pay house rent, as well as get the daily things children need like food and bathing supplies. The children’s sponsors will also help buy clothes, mosquito nets (Malaria Protection), medicine, and educational needs.

Meet Baby Hope

Orphan 1
Baby Hope ©Kakande Muhamad

This little girl is fourteen-months-old and she is known as baby Hope. She is currently living at the Reallife Home Orphanage and no one knows who her parents are. Sadly, baby Hope was found late at night and she was lying curled up next to a toilet in a Kampala, Uganda neighborhood called Bwaise. This run down neighborhood is known for prostitution and sex workers. She was alone and desperately needed help, so the volunteers brought her to the orphanage, but at this time she doesn’t have a name.

Therefore, I have chosen to call her Baby Hope and the volunteers need help with someone to sponsor this beautiful little girl. As a sponsor, you will make sure she eats daily and gets medication when she is sick. Baby Hope deserves to be happy and cared for, even though she has had a rough start to life. She is now in the care of volunteers, who want to help her live a long happy yet full life.

Meet Simon Mugerwa

Orphan 2
Simon Mugerwa ©Kakande Muhamad

This is Simon Mugerwa and he is five-year-old boy, who is one of our special orphaned children. Unfortunately, Simon lost his father in 2014 and his mother could no longer care for this handsome little boy. He is a happy little boy, who has dreams of being a doctor, so he wants to get an education. However, he needs a sponsor that can help him realize his dream, due to the required school fees.

Simon loves to play with his friends at the orphanage, he loves the volunteers, and he enjoys riding his bicycle. Additionally, he loves watching cartoons and he is a very energetic little boy, who is full of love for everyone. Currently, he needs a sponsor that can help us get him into school, as well as helping with his daily needs like food and medication. Therefore take a moment to learn more about Simon and his friend baby Hope.

Contact Information

Any sponsors who may want to help our orphanage or sponsor a child, please feel free to contact me on my Facebook page Reallife Orphanage Home. We have limited internet contact at this time, so bear with us as we hope to grow and make a difference in the lives of these special children. We are hoping to build a website and other ways to help you learn more about our orphanage. The children and I send much love, peace, and light to you all. May God bless you.

PS: Stop back by and meet each of the orphans, which I will be featuring from the Reallife Orphange Home. The orphanage’s legal papers are posted below.

Coming Home

impossible God

You’re the one I look to when my life falls apart,
You have had me in your hands from the start.
My life was bleak when I decided to move away,
So today, I come back home to you and here I will stay.

I know you will accept me, so I don’t feel an ounce of fear,
I am humbled, on my knees, and silently listening to hear.
Where do I go next as I choose to let you guide me,
You are the only the one in this world that can set me free.

Only you know where my life will ultimately lead,
I haven’t forgotten that I gave you my heart and its deed.
I have stumbled through life and looked for guidance from all,
Instead, I found a ton of strength the moment I took my fall.

I will continue to grow in the ways you choose for my life,
Despite the trials and tribulations that will cut like a knife.
Lord, I know you are in control of my life and my future,
Therefore, the peace will replace the temporary sutures.

My Reflections and Goals

Author Crystal 3

As a young girl, I always dreamed of writing novels or writing for my city’s local paper. Every day, I told my friends that someday, they would see my name in the newspaper on the front page. They would generally laugh or make comments about my head being in the clouds. After hitting a hurdle in high school, I thought I would never be an author, columnist, or journalist. I am so thankful for the opportunity to chase my educational goals while I was down, due to my cancer treatment and aftermath.

My Education Goals

However, I returned to high school and graduated in 2006. Next, I signed up to take a course with the Institute of Children’s Literature. I earned my certificate for Writing for Teenagers and Children in late 2006. Now, I have earned an Associate’s Degree in Arts of Business in 2008, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications in 2011. For the past 15 years, I have been writing short stories, poems, and have written several novels that I am working on now. I am also writing stories and articles for different magazines and books like Guideposts.

It is a Way of Life

Journalism and columnist jobs require that the employee to be available on a moment’s notice, especially when news is breaking around town. However, I am a twelve year cervical cancer stage 2B survivor, who had aggressive treatment to become cancer free. I am disabled, so I cannot chase stories to become a major journalist. So, I have two blogs that I am using as a column and publishing several articles and stories on different subject matter.

Writing is My Passion

I love writing, so now I write articles for my blogs or I write for magazines as well. Additionally, I am writing an articles and novels now full time. I am a new author when it comes to novels, but I am determined to continue writing. Thankfully, I am very versatile in my writing, so I have three novels coming out which are different genres. I have already publish two small books, a poetry collection and a short stories book for children.

It is a Career

I love meeting new readers and fans, especially as my writing grows and I continue writing things about this I love writing about. I love knowing that my fans and readers enjoy my work, so if you stop by my blogs. Take a moment to leave a comment or even just say HI. Each day is a new day to bring my readers new ideas, stories, and more. Thank you for supporting me in my career choice and I hope you enjoy my future writings.

Respectfully Yours,

Crystal S. Kauffman
